Sephora Play April 2016

Hey everyone!!

Today's post is about my first sephora play box.

For those who are new to the beauty world, sephora play box is a monthly beauty box containing 5 samples of luxury beauty for $10 per month. You get to try a few luxury skin care and makeup product samples, the full sizes of which, are available at sephora. They also include a perfume sample in all the boxes.

This is the 8th sephora play box, ever since they started this service September last year.

Ok let's jump to the pictures from the April play box by sephora.

I am really interested in trying the clinique prep start eye cream and Sunday Riley good genes lactic acid treatment. I already have the NARS satin lip pencil in rikugien and I really liked the shade on me. It is a great everyday shade!

This box contains:
1. Sunday Riley good genes lactic acid treatment - 10 ml
2. NARS satin lip pencil in rikugien - Delux sample size - 1.7 g
3. Sephora collection colorful cheek ink gel in Peony - 10 g
4. DEREK LAM 10 CROSBY 2am kiss perfume sample size (probably 1ml)
5. Clinique prep start eye cream - 3 ml
6. Milk makeup sunshine oil - 3 ml

Overall, I am not extremely excited about this month's play by sephora. Nevertheless I will give this box another shot next month and then decide about continuing or cancelling it.

Here are the full prices of the products.

By the way, this is my first ever beauty box!! Yay!!!

Hope you enjoyed the pictures. I will let you all know my thoughts about each of the products after giving them a fair chance!!

Take care y'all.

Have a wonderful day!

Review: CereVe AM facial moisturizing lotion

Hey everyone!!

I am back with another skin care review.

Despite loving makeup, I one fine day, asked myself "What is the point in buying tonnes of makeup, when your skin is not in good condition?" When the skin has a lot of texture and imperfections (like small bumps, acne scars, spots and redness), I am of the opinion that even a thick layer of a makeup would not conceal them. After trying a lot of foundations, concealers and powders, I realized that I, at this point, did not prefer anything on my face other than moisturizer and sunscreen. Now don't get me wrong here, I DO LOVE MAKEUP! But I feel that makeup should be used as an enhancing tool.
So I decided to focus on improving my skin and after that, start using makeup. Not sure how many of you guys would agree with me.

Talking about moisturizers, one of my favorites at the moment is the CereVe AM Facial Moisturizing Lotion.

About the brand

CeraVe is a registered trademark of Valeant Pharmaceuticals International, Inc.
Skin naturally contains ceramides. Over time, ceramides become depleted, leading to dry and irritated skin. CeraVe helps replenish the vital ceramides healthy skin needs. It's formulated with a unique combination of three ceramides (called 1, 3, and 6-II). Only CeraVe delivers ceramides through a patented, controlled-release technology that penetrates the skin's surface, to help rebuild the skin's protective barrier and lock in moisture all day.
What the brand claims

  • Contains Niacinamide, which calms skin.

  • Contains vital ceramides which are beneficial to skin.

Active Ingredients
Homosalate, Meradimate, Octinoxate, Octocrylene, Zinc Oxide

My skin

My skin has always been acne prone and combination oily. But of late, my skin has become kinda normal and dehydrated. So I am reassessing my skin care routine and changing the products.

My thoughts

I was looking for a new moisturizer and found good reviews for this product and went for it. It comes with a pump dispenser which can be locked when not in use or while travelling, very convenient and love that feature! The consistency of the moisturizer is medium, neither too thick nor too watery. It spreads easily on skin, but of late I find it works really well when I spray a facial mist and then apply my moisturizer. It does have a slight white tint on application which disappears in about five to ten minutes of application. It does have a broad spectrum SPF of 30, meaning the zinc oxide protects against UVA in addition to UVB, so it protects from sun burn and aging, which is very good. The packaging claims that it is suited for normal to dry skin, but I have used this during summer and I was quite comfortable. It did not make my skin extra oily or clog my pores. It is also fragrance free. It contains niacinamide, a cell communicating agent, that helps skin repair damage from pollution and su damage and produce new cells.

It spreads easily

The packaging is travel friendly

The good:
1. Convenient and travel friendly packaging.
2. Has SPF 30.
3. Moisturizes the skin.
4. Contains a lot of skin friendly and beneficial ingredients.
5. Fragrance free.
6. Affordable.

The not so good:
1. NONE!!

I definitely recommend this moisturizer to all who have normal to dry skin. Honestly, I feel even the oily skin gals can use this.

Rating - 5/5.

Have a good day!

Review: Keurig K15 coffee machine.

Hey everyone!

Today I am going to slightly diverge from makeup and skin care and talk about yet another thing that I have started to love of late - COFFEE!
This happened only over the past few months and I have no clue as to when exactly I started developing a liking towards coffee.
Anyways, continuing on this note, I recently received a Keurig K15 from Influenster to try and give my opinion on. I would to cut to the chase and let you know that I am in love with this machine!

This is the carousel that came along with the K15.

Details about the machine.
The Keurig® K15 Coffee Maker is a compact personal coffee maker with 6, 8, and 10 oz. K-Cup® pod brew sizes. Portable and great for small spaces, the Keurig® K15 makes single cup brewing fast, convenient and simple. To operate, simply add fresh water into the single-use reservoir, choose your favorite K-Cup® pod, brew, and enjoy!
Key Features that I love about K15:

  • Brews coffee, tea, hot cocoa, specialty, and iced beverages
  • Brews in under two minutes - Ideal during the morning rush!
  • K-Cup® pod Brew Sizes: 6, 8, 10 oz. - Perfect for a single brew/cup of coffee.
  • Compact size - Does not occupy much space in my already tiny kitchen!
  • Removable Drip Tray - This feature helps in fitting all sizes of mugs!
  • Indicator lights help guide you through each brew - very useful for people (like me) who hates reading the manual!
  • Turns off automatically after 90 seconds of inactivity
  • Available in multiple colors
  • Cord storage feature helps with portability
  • Compatible with My K-Cup® Reusable Coffee Filter - I can use my existing coffee powders to make coffee!
Since I am the only one who drinks coffee in my house, it suits me to the T. It is quick, fuss free and easy to operate!

Here is a video clipping of the entire process!

All in all, I would like to say that I love the K15.
Even if I had not received it for free, I was thinking about getting one soon!

I totally recommend this machine, if you are a coffee lover like me!!

I hope you enjoyed reading me gushing about this machine!
